Advocacy

Together, all of us can help make our community better.

ARC stands for Advocacy, Resources and Commitment. We give a voice to individuals, groups and systems with our advocacy services. By standing up and speaking out, we’re helping individuals with disabilities improve their quality of life.

Being an advocate for individuals. Individual services help secure the support and resources individuals with disabilities need to live safely and as independently as possible. The program provides in-home crisis intervention services as well as Case Management to those with critical service needs. The goal is to find solutions and then assist in developing a plan for the future so crises can be averted.

Teaching groups of people how to be advocates. We provide on-going group activities that focus on self-advocacy and self-determination. Our services are designed to train and support persons with disabilities and inform them about disability issues including: community living, legislative issues, and working with elected officials and the county at state level.

Making our voice heard. ARC is a leader in disability advocacy. We work on issues that impact individuals, families and the community.

Some of the issues we address include:

  • County & State Budgets
  • Long-Term Care
  • Family Care
  • Transportation
